1. This Writ Petition has been filed by Mr. Rajat petitioner in-person, on 11-02-2025, praying therein as under:

"A. Direct the Union of India to recognize internet services as essential services, necessitating appropriate regulatory measures to ensure their affordability and accessibility and give it the legal recognition by taking it into the purview of essential commodities act, 1955, by issuing writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ.

B.   Issue directions to the Union of India to formulate and implement policies that regulate the pricing of internet services, preventing arbitrary hikes and ensuring that they remain affordable for all citizens, by issuing writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ.

C.   Direct the Competition Commission of India to investigate and take action against anti-competitive practices in the telecommunications sector, particularly the alleged cartelization by Jio and Airtel, by issuing writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ.

D.   Direct the Union of India to adopt such measures that promote universal access to internet services, including subsidies or targeted schemes for low-income groups, to bridge the digital divide, by issuing writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ."

4.   It is submitted that the instant matter pertains to Petitioner-in-Person who is an advocate and a member of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana.  Notice of hearing has been sent to Petitioner-in-Person via E-mail.
